Players going to active roster when added to secondary roster

I am using Version 1.0.1.12242 (the patched version)

My league consists of all default leagues ( MLB, Japan, etc) with full minor leagues.

For some reason when I add a player to my secondary roster he is automatically being added to my Active roster. If my active roster is full, then the game is giving me a message saying "An error occurred, the active roster is full." Even though my secondary roster has an opening. (39/40).

Any idea why this is happening and what I may be able to do about it. Due to the DFA loophole I am able to work around it but it is frustrating.

Thanks.

jerrycapo,

I apologize for the horribly slow response to this thread.

Can you please provide a little more information on this?

1. Can you reproduce this issue with a completely separate game? Or is it just in this one game file?

2. It's been a while since you posted - are you still seeing this issue?

3. Which team/league are you controlling right now?

Thanks,

Steve

I've noticed the same thing. Say you have an injured player and you move him to the DL from the 25 man roster. Then, sign a free agent and move him to the 40 man roster and he will automatically be placed on the 25 man roster also to replace the guy you disabled.

Thanks for that extra info, Mark. I've logged this as TT #1979.

Sorry for the delay in my reply. I have noticed this happens between the end of the season and the roster expansion for spring training. Where I was noticing it most was when I started a new league and would sign a free agent. My plan was to add the player to my 40man and then demote somebody to AAA and move my newly signed FA from the DFA to my active roster. Everytime I added the player to my 40man I would receive a message saying active roster is full. When I sent a player down to AAA from my active roster and then added my newly signed FA to the 40man he was added to the 40man and removed from DFA and added to my active roster all at once. It is easy enough to work around but caused a bit of frustration when it first happened. Hope this helps.
