Draft Problems

For the June draft, only a couple of the players showed up in the draft pool. I was able to scout the whole pool and when I go to the transactions page they show up, however they do not show up on the draft page. I can only make a pick by using the head scout's recommendation.

This is a league I started before the patch and I am now using the patch.

On another note, would it be possible to include the talent and potential ratings (the ones that are now on the roster transactions page) as sortable ratings for the draft pool. This would make it much easier to sort through dratable players for both the initial draft and June draft.

Might you have accidently installed the "Try and Buy" version (~30MB ) instead of the patch (~13MB)? I made that mistake and had draft problems.

Hmm, this is very odd. Are you able to replicate this problem at all, with a new league?

I started a new league and I am now having the same problems with the initial draft. I tried it a couple of times and the same problem keeps happening. I am basically stuck because I can't run any drafts.

I just tried it again and the same thing happens. I can't see any players to draft (or more specifically for the initial draft there are 0 batters and 103 pitchers).

Any update on this? I just finished my first season using a Japanese Quickstart that I downloaded from one of the OOTPers here. The draft is set up to take place in November. I was able to scout the draft, got reports on all the players from my scout but when I simmed ahead and got to the draft I had a screen with 0 players listed. No matter what I did I could not get a viewable list of players.

I hit head scout recommendations and a player popped up in the corner box but still no others in the list view on top. I don't remember what I did after that (I think I was trying to mess around with the drop downs). The game gave me some kind of database or data missing error, locked up and then crashed.

Can you point us to the Japanese quick-start? Perhaps that can help us replicate the issue.

Are you sure you're playing with the patched version? Sound like the old pre-patch problem where simming TO a day resulted in simming THROUGH a day.

Check to see if the draft has already occurred.

The draft has not already occurred. I have Version 1.0.1.12242

The "custom filter (not saved)" part makes me think you might want to look a little closer at the filters you have turned on...

Interesting. I've never created a filter on this league but when I hit clear the draft list showed up. Good job. Now, why was it like this in the first place?

Edit: I may have went into filter once and then decided I didn't need to use it but it wasn't in the draft screen.

The filter seems to stick until you clear it and is used on every screen where players are listed. I have thought I'd "lost" thousands of players before because of it...

For anyone else having such issues, make sure it says "No filter" where his screenshot says "Custom filter (not saved)"...

Yeah, that is a pretty important thing. I kinda wish on a thing like the draft list it would automatically be cleared the first time you look at it. Anyway, once I actually start using filters this probably won't happen anymore. I ignore that feature at the moment.
