Players on my team showing up in FA

I'm sure there is something very simple that I'm doing wrong, but I can't figure it out. I am finding people on my team in the FA pool. I went to possible free agents and they weren't there, but now they're FA and refuse to negotiate.

I don't know if you're problem is the same as mine but I had an 80 rated pitcher who did not show up in possible free agents. It said he was supposed to be arbitration eligible after this season. I was cheap & tried to sign him to a cheap long term deal. He didn't bite & told me he wouldn't negotiate with me anymore. It didn't bother me b/c I knew I could let him go to arbitration & then resign him next year. However, by the end of the year he APPARENTLY had enough service days to become a FA. So I lost the best pitcher in the league because of a few stinkin' service days. That MAY have been the same thing you ran into.

I can't wait to watch this guy win a couple of CY Young's with someone else

No, because I checked at the end of the year and he wasn't on my list, but when I went to the FA list after the people filed for FA, there he was sitting on the top of the list.

Bump, I just lost Joe Jackson and Babe Ruth due to this problem and I can't stand it anymore. I had to quit out of the season and not save it because I can not lose those two people.

How do you quit out of a season and not save it?

Is this an imported league from 6.12 or 6.5?
Did you start in commish mode?

(Any other background info on the league setup would help as well)

I would just like to note that you should only use this in extreme emergencies. Any history recorded for players will remain for the deleted portion of the game.

Good point. Not stats, but history comments...

Well if it's not stats then it doesn't really bother me because I don't want to lose J.J. and . Can someone answer my question now.

It's hard to give an answer, when I don't know exactly what has happened , except that you lost players that you didn't think you should have. All I can say is that I haven't experienced a similar problem, yet.

Sorry.

If you are comfortable doing a data dump, you could check to see exactly what the player's service time was in days and maybe this would help explain the issue...

Well that's pretty much all that happenned. I checked to see who was a possible FA for next year and it listed no one, I did this at the end of the year, so I was like awesome. Then I get to FA and Ruth and Joe Jackson are sitting in free agency and refuse to negotiate with me.

It exports virtually every rating, stat, and variable in your league...

There is blog in the News section of the OOTP website about them...

If you are familiar with Access or Excel, they are relatively easy to operate...

Couldn't I check their service days in the game?

The service time reported in game is listed in Yrs,Dys format...

I'm thinking ('scuse me Grand SLAM, walkoff HR for my REDS!!!)...

Sorry, watching the game...

I'm thinking that maybe your service time calendar may be out of sync...

How many games are you playing in your season?..
