Bug Report: Coaches Salaries

I'm running a patched version (1.0.1).

It would seem that the setting for Average Coaches Salary (Under game setup in the rules tab just above the lists of average salaries for star players, good players, etc.) has no function. Whatever I set this to, the personnel contracts are the same.

BTW, I have never experienced a game crash, even though I'm running on a Tandy 1000 with 64K of internal ram.

HOw long does it take you to play a game? I used to run on a AMD 1.33GHz with 128MB RAM (64MB Shared with my video - this was before I knew how that affected my system) with 6.5, and it took three-five minutes to generate the box score after the game.

Er, that was evidently sarcasm. Tandy's are pre-Windows. They definitely won't run OOTP.

64K of RAM!!! WOOT! That's a MONSTER!

As for personnel: I have no clue. I don't even know how salaries look for me in my league when signing new guys, since staff don't use calendars I've never signed a new guy yet.

Sorry for the horrendously late response to this thread.

Luckily, I bring news. In 1.0.2 at least, there is definitely a relationship. When you change this value, coach salaries change. However, I did end up logging a bug, because it seems the game considers the "average salary" to include all unemployed coaches, which ends up bringing the actual salaries of employed coaches up about 25%.

I logged this as TT #2265.

Alright, I had misunderstood the meaning of "average coach salary." I thought it meant "the average salary of all coaches," when in fact it means "the salary of an average coach."

Based on that, I think there is no longer any issue in this thread, so I'm moving this over to Closed/Claimed Fixed...
