"Randomize Cities" - How random?
I was wondering if anyone else was having trouble with the Randomize Cities function during league creation. I created two US leagues last night, with cities and names I choose, and then five minor leagues for each. I swear, as many times as I clicked randomize, I think every single league ended up with Glendale in it. Other cities also were coming up almost every time - Jersey City, Anchorage, Newark, etc. It also kept generating teams in cities that had major league teams.
Is it just me? In any case, if it's not my imagination, would it be possible to increase the randomness and also maybe run a check and make sure you don't have teams in that city alredy? |

you could randomly get the same set of cities everytime, since its random, you never know....

![]() I had the "Madison has an illegal number of players" error last night, and when searching for the culprit, I discovered that 4 of my 10 US minor leagues has a team in Madison. |

I don't really like the random cities thing too much. First because of the good chance of duplicates, and second because you can have larger cities with single-A clubs than major-league clubs. It's kinda useless, imho.
PS - to all fanboi reading this i do liek the gaem so plz dont flame me ok thank i am out

![]() I thought I saw one of the blogs mention lower leagues had smaller city's, but I've had real-life MLB city's like Pittsburgh and Cincinatti come up on as random cities in rookie leagues, so either that wasn't the case or it doesn't really work. |

We need a duplicate check as I kept getting two teams from the same city of 1800.

From personal observation, not fixed, still an issue.
I get multiple same cities in all levels of minors, and this is in TT, too. |

'T would be nice if we could check certain cities/nicknames we wanted to keep and then it would randomize the rest.

Playing around with the "Randomize Cities" button, I've just had a serious case of Atlantas, Clevelands, Arlingtons, Albuquerques, and El Pasos. This persisted even after cancelling out of the creation process, and clicking "Create New Game" again, so I'm guessing there's a random seed that isn't very random in its results, and also doesn't get refreshed very often (maybe only when the game is reopened?).

i just created a 16 team league with 5 levels of minors (should be 80 unique minor-league teams). Glendale appeared 4 times (2 in the same level ![]() that's 40 out of 80 teams, if that helps anything.

Guess what I am working on right now?
![]() Results soon. EDIT Not bad. 16 teams, 2 sub leagues, full minors. I kept clicking randomize, probably a dozen times at multiple levels. One time, I saw Aurora twice, did not bother to check to see if this was the same town in the same state. Saw Minneapolis get a AA team as well as Saint Paul, but when I checked to see if there was a MLB team in Minneapolis, there was not. Short version: Improved.
