The new patch seems to make the opening splash screen (with the stop watch) last an eternity. The first 1.02 patch really speeded it up.

SI has switched compilers recently, and this results in the splash screen taking longer . . . in exchange for significantly faster sim speed. It was a tradeoff SI was willing to make.
