Hit and Run with 1st and 3rd...

I believe this may have been in earlier editions as well, but on hit and run plays with runners on first and third, both runners will break on a hit and run play.

IRL, the hit and run play is pretty common with first and third situations, but the runner on third is only a spectator. In the game, a hit and run in this situation is a terrible play.

I'm sorry for the awfully slow response to this thread.

Obviously, some time has passed since you posted this issue, and the 1.0.2 patch has since been released as well. Are you still seeing this issue? I have not been able to reproduce it so far.

Please let me know!

Thanks,

Steve

I'm seeing this same issue, and I'm using the latest 1.0.2 WIP patch. Every hit & run with men on 1st & 3rd results in both runners breaking. As the original poster said, only the man on 1st should "run" in that situation - at least initially. (If the runner on 3rd breaks after the throw goes to 2nd, for example, then that's fine... but that's not the case in this game.)

Thanks for all of your hard work!

Thanks as well. I wanted to make sure I tested this before I answered, but to confirm the runner on third does run on a 1st & 3rd hit and run play, and will also often run on a 1st & 3rd run and hit, which is almost worse!

Thanks for getting back to this. I thought it might be a little to esoteric as nobody replied the first time around!

A simple way to test it...

Play a game managing BOTH teams. Play someone out of position at catcher. Intentionally walk the first batter. Steal second and third. Intentionally walk the next batter. Then hit and run or run and hit. Both the game text and results will indicate the runner on 3rd breaking with the pitch.

This fix has been verified in the latest version of the game.

Thanks!
