Game runs slow, problems with AI, simming etc.
Windows XP SP2
1 gig Ram AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3800+ Process Spd 2400 mhg Game has both patches, imported league from 6.5 Have uninstalled and reinstalled the game and the patches I think I posted this in the wrong forum, but additional issues since I wrote this.... Still have the same issues when I posted this on 7/06/06. Maybe I missed a complete reply and if I did I apologoze for bringing this up again, however.. 1. Mainly when simming, the game runs slow constantly and I keep getting "Not Responding" in the title bar which lasts as long as 3 minutes, sometimes shorter. 2. I gave a pitcher an additional pitch by checking off the box in the edit window, but it never stays. Conversely, I did not check off enable interleague play but I have interleague play. 3. After setting my lineups in the overview window, I select "Generate Depth Charts based on these lineups" under the action button, but the depth chart line ups do not match. I went back and did each lineup individually selecting the "Generate Depth Chart etc" after each time and I still get a different lineup. 4. Trade deadline set and selected for July 31, but have been offered several trades and made a trade just to see if I could as late as 9/09. 5. I had AI do the minor league set up including lineups. Players that were injured, two of them out for the season, were in the lineups even though there were other players available for that position. And a general question. When we first played the game, we played a few games of one season. Then we messed around with editing and gave certain players high if not the highest ratings (1-250). The line in the Resulting Stats for one player had him hitting .400 with 50 home runs, yet when we played the season out, he hit .248 with 38 HR. Don' those increases take effect or is there some sort of checks and balance? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. <!-- / message --> |

Changing positions has been brought up before, by me in fact. I heard nothing about it past my post... it shouldn't be changing anything about your lineup, hitting order or position, but want to make sure which one is happening to you. Quote:
Personally I like this... I always got annoyed when the computer left them out in V5 because I would have to remember to go back in and get them in the lineup later. So if I went in to set the lineups, but my biggest prospect is out for a week... I'd have to remember to go back in in one week and change the lineups again. I want minimal work needed for my minor leagues, that kind of micromanaging is annoying. As long as it works right, does sub someone in, I like it. Quote:
Also, just because it says he could or should doesn't mean he will. I think those lines are depicting a perfect season for him might result in these numbers... there's never a perfect season. Maybe he drew the short straw and faced far more great pitchers than might normally happen for average. Maybe the AI was so scared of him they pitched around him, and he hit pitcher's pitches. Also, maybe it's just bad luck, see what he does next year. |

That's not correct, and you can easily test for that: The standard MAL setup (with interleague enabled by default) results in major_american_league_ml_c_2006.lsdl being loaded for the MAL. Turn off interleague without changing anything else and you'll get a game-created schedule instead. |

Previously, I'd thought the AI was just misjudging who it could get through waivers, but now it looks like a flat-out bug, |

Yes, I have gotten trades through so it must be a bug.
And regarding the lineups in the depth charts. The guy I had playing 2nd base would be at 3rd, the guy at 3rd would be at ss etc. They were all infielders and played those positions, not like a catcher was playing ss, but I don't know why the depth charts would be different after just a click on a button.. And the guy we gave super numbers to was only 29. And I saw only a slight drop in his ratings during the year. |

Sorry it's been such a long time since anyone last tried to help, Sley. Are you still having the speed problems and line-up changes after patch 1.0.3?

We usually close threads if they've gone without a response for seven days, as is the case with this one, as it can be assumed that the problem has been resolved.
If you'd like me to re-open the thread, feel free to PM me with a link to it. Thanks! ![]()
