amature draft question

question...when setting up league...do i put date as 1901 for a league starting in 1901 or 1902 as i am having an inangural draft...also don't most people draft in the offseason??? I know its a newbie question...just don't know what to put for the date so that we can have the amateur draft each season???

Setting the start date with an inaug draft will result in the game starting in Jan '01, with a draft straight away, then the season will proceed as usual untill the first rookie draft later that year.

I don't know if thats what you are asking, but thats my experiance.
