Facegen not working

Getting "Facegen not initialized" on my ancient computer running windows-me.

My card is NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 MODEL 64.

Looking on google it seems as if this card SHOULD support opengl? I'm not sure. I have the actual FACEGEN program on my computer and it works great. Any ideas for finding the latest drivers or should I buy a new card? Any suggestion on a graphics card to buy??

Thanks for any help,

Rich

p.s. OOTP2007 looks great otherwise - but I also loved OOTP2006 so what do I know.

Did you dl the driver from here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/riva_drivers.html

Seems you should try the OS/2 Driver

Heya BP -

I downloaded the updated driver you linked to (OS/2) - but I have no idea how to use the file. There is no .INF file so I can't update the driver from Desktop/Properties/Setting/Adapter.

There is an "install" text in the download from NVIDIA that reads as follows... (and I have no clue what I am supposed to do with DISKETTES that I don't have and I don't know what an "OS/2 full-screen or window session is). Thanks so much for trying to help...

Rich

OS/2 GRADD Video Device Driver for the Nvidia NV4
1. If system is not in VGA mode, it is recommended that install VGA mode before driver installation.
2. Insert the "NVGRADD 1" diskette into drive A (or any other diskette drive).
3. Open an OS/2 full-screen or OS/2 window session.
4. At the OS/2 command prompt, type the following command to copy
all necessary files to the OS/2 drive:
A:SETUP NV A:\ C:
where A: is the diskette drive.
Then press Enter.
5. Once file copy is complete, restart your computer. Make sure the diskette has been removed from
the install drive.
NOTE: The installation diskette should be labeled "NVGRADD 1"
CID or unattended installation is available by utilizing the "/u" option (ie. setup NV /u).
** The GRADD driver requires Fixpack5 or greater for Warp4 (Merlin).
** The GRADD driver requires Fixpack37 or greater for Warp3.

Diskettes? That sounds like some old stuff. Is this an old computer? I am surprised that wasn't just an exe file to dl.

It's an old HP Pavilion with 384 MB ram and an AMD Athlon processor (MMX, 3D now, ~850mhz) with windows ME installed.

Maybe it's time to just get a decent computer and not just the graphics card eh? Heh. I still have the old SEASON TICKET baseball installed and it works great. No problems with any ootp up to this newest one - other than facegen not working. It's surprising considering FACEGEN works great as a standalone program.

Thanks again,

Rich

Try these drivers: http://www.nvidia.com/object/win9x_81.98.html

If those don't work, it may be that this card isn't compatible. I haven't seen it on the list as working or non-working yet, so you're the first to report actually using this card.

Shame I just sold the computer that had one of these in it. Could have tested it myself.

The first patch will very likely fix that problem. Will come next week.
