CPU Active Roster Exceeding Max Size
The setup in my fictional historical league is 25 man active rosters, expanding to 30 players, secondary roster disabled, and 1 AAA minor league. It is now spring training and I noticed that although I can only bring up enough players from the minors to fill a 30 player roster, the CPU has rosters of up to 51 players (shows as "active roster 51/30 players" on the transaction screen)
The league was created by creating a historical league in 1903, dumping players to FA, deleting all player and league history, deleting FA's, then creating fictional players for the majors and minors. Here is a screenprint of one team, but they are all like this. Is there a way to get more players up on my active roster, like the CPU has, or should this not be happening for the CPU ? ![]() Last edited by Nukester; 04-16-2007 at 09:08 PM. |

This always happens at the beginning of spring training, sim a week and check again. You will find the challenge has righted itself. It takes the AI a couple of days to decide who to release to get you to the correct number of roster players. The rest are "non-roster invitees" it needs to make decisions on.

The CPU moved all of its AAA minor league players to the active roster. I can only move 5 players. I really didnt look closely to see if all of those 51 players are getting spring game time. Ill check it out more closely tomorrow. Does spring training follow the 40 man roster in real life, or can you invite as many as you want ? Im thinking the later, so the change would be to allow the human to put all of his players up, to see how they make out in spring. Am I the only one seeing this in their league ?? I would think this would be talked about more if it were happening elsewhere. |

It was discussed up in General Discussion in the past couple of days. (If that was your thread, I apologize.) The suggestion made there was to run the 'Allow AI to set up your organization', which will supposedly give you roster parity with the CPU teams during spring training.
A caveat is that when I did this in 2006 it placed about a dozen of my players on waivers. None were claimed, and I was eventually able to move them from DFA also into spring training, but it scared me for three days. This certainly sounds like a bug to me, since the workaround is potentially disasterous. |

Does this work any better when using the beta patch?

As this thread appears to be dead, it will be closed out. I'm fairly sure that it was fixed in the beta patch. If anyone needs any further assistance with it, please ask a moderator to open it back up. Thanks.
