Mark, I saw him fight last summer, and he certainly looks like a solid prospect.

I have only seen one brief highlight so I cant really say..but Ice knows his stuff and I will keep an eye out for him. Seems like a lot of good boxers are starting to come out of Canada lately. I trust Ice but like A87..ya never know until they face some live competition...guess thats why they call them "prospects" and not "contenders" LOL. I know the guy that runs the website called fightfan.com and he is from Canada and he tells me this guy has some good skills as well and from the little highlight I watched he does seem like someone to keep an eye on. Peace fellas.

His coach, Russ Abner, was contracted by "Title Boxing" several years ago to do boxing instruction dvds for the company. At the time, the above mentioned boxer demonstrated all of the moves, punches, .......

If you go to Rival Boxing Gear - Training Tips there is an example.

I know he's very young and needs to be brought along slowly (late 88), but I wish GYM would put him up against boxers who could at least make it to the second round. Sure, he gets to fight every month but I can't see how valuable the experience is when he's in the ring for barely a round or two.

Lemeiux is not learning anything about himself by KTFO stiffs in one round. Plain and simple.

I don't doubt Abner's ability as a trainer/coach but he needs to get better opposition for his young fighter. Is it that hard to find a decent trial horse/journeymen that can go rounds unless GYM is building up his record to cash out?

So why's he boxing that much anyway? Tyson boxed all the time because his handlers were concerned that if they weren't constantly training him he'd go out and do something stupid (which eventually he did). Are Lemieux's people worried about something similar? Or are they over-exposing him just because?

I'm still watching David Lemieux. I don't think he deserves a rating yet due to his lack of competition, but I think he may make an impact down the road.

I think '09 will be seeing a step up with Lemieux. Looks like he has some good power but they are moving him slowly for the time being.

Does anyone know what his amateur credentials were?

When I saw the title, I thought it was going to be about Victor Ortiz.
