ootp error

I have been having trouble getting my created league to work right. I have a 40 team major league, and then 4 10 team AAA leagues, and when I get to the end of the first season, I get an OOTP error, and the program shuts down. This is a great game, but I'm getting very frustrated by this. What can I do?

What operating system are you using? What does the error say? Does it always error out on the same day? If so, which day? Are you hitting 'play day', or simming along? Is the program engaged in a particular operation at the time the error pops, such as updating FaceGen pictures? Was this league original to 2007, or an import from 2006 or earlier? Was it created before or after the patch? Is it built from an older template? Does it use a roster set or data base? If so, which one? What kind of league is it (historical, fictional, combined, out-of-the-box quickstart)?

I think the troubleshooters will require a little more information before they can be of much use to you.

I'm using windows XP, and it happens at various times throughout the season, sometimes I'm trying to initiate a trade, but most frequently it happens when I make my selections for the season awards. I have nothing else open while I run ootp baseball 2007.. The message is just simply, "OOTP 2007 has created an error and must shut down, then it asks me something about if I want to notify my server, or something like that

I think my problem might have been that I didn't have the patch installed, it's just a fictional league where I created one major league of 40 teams, 4 different divisions, 10 teams in a division. Playoffs are set for division winners plus wildcards. Then I created 4 separate AAA leagues with 10 teams each, based off the 40 team major league. I run split season on those. I'm not using any roster sets or anything like that, just creating the league like I said.
