LicCTRL Service issue Game won't start
Ok I don't know why, but, all of a sudden OOTP 07 won't start up I get a "Application failed to initialize propery (0x0000005) Click OK to terminate the application.
I recalled that this particular game uses that E-License stuff and so I looked at my startup applications and there is LicCtrl Services with UNKNOWN vendor and it says STOPPED (all the other applications are running) How do I get this thing to RUN? I've clicked on it, right clicked on it, done everything I know and it just won't ENABLE or start RUNNING.. I even uninstalled and reinstalled OOTP 07 and it still does the same thing. How to fix? |

Lol I found the answer to my own problem. It involves your DEP program running in the background a Windows System Protection from viruses etc that runservices.exe is attached to. I run a highly overprotective system and I had to add it to my allowed programs/applications/services that DEP doesn't look at or blocks and also added the OOTPBB.exe to the list as well.
Those of you who never muck with DEP shouldn't have to worry about this as it's set to just monitor basic windows applications and some services that are hidden in your startup msconfig.sys applications. You can mark this one closed now and fixed. ![]() |
