Editing Standard/Historical Leagues
Is there a way to edit the Standard League to add/delete teams?
For example: I play as the San Diego Padres, but I noticed that they have no Rookie League team, the AZL Padres in the Arizona Rookie League. I thought I'd try to fix it by just adding the team in the Arizona Rookie League by myself. However, the game currently does not allow me to edit the league structure. It says: League Structure Setup (cannot be edited because this is a standard or historical league). I really want to get my beloved Padres a rookie league team to immerse myself into the game. Is there any way I can do this for myself w/out having to recreate the whole Major League Universe manually? If not, I'd like this to be an issue that should be fixed in the next patch. Maybe letting us edit standard leagues, or just putting the AZL Padres in the Arizona Rookie League. Thanks! Last edited by dagmar; 06-19-2008 at 05:37 PM. |

Because there are 8 teams in the league in OOTP you'd have a problem adding just one team. I was able to go in an add the team on the structure screen, but with 9 teams I know the scheduler won't be happy with me. I'll note I was able to edit the structure in June.
Your best bet is to change the AZL Royals to the AZL Padres as the Royals have 3 rookie league teams in the default set-up.

I half take that back, you can try to add the team and then import this schedule, created by LGO. It should mimic the exact schedule of the league. Just paste this into the schedule folder and try to import it into the game.

It seemed I was able to edit the teams once I was done with set-ups. I could add a 9th team, like the way it is in real life. Does having 9 teams really not play well with the in-game scheduler?

You can import the schedule I attached to my last reply for that league with 9 and it should work.

Any league structure can be edited after the game has started I believe, so that would be the way to go and add a team to AZL.

As the non-editing at setup of standard leagues is a design feature and there has been no further update to this thread from the OP in the last three days, I'll move this thread to closed.
