MLB League Playoff Seeding
My team, White Sox, made the playoffs winning the AL Central. We played Boston (wildcard, but better record) in the ALDS. Boston had homefield advantage in the series. The wildcard should never have homefield advantage per MLB seeding rules.
Also the Rays won their 2nd WS out of 3 years, that's gotta be a bug!

You can use the custom playoffs to get correct seedings.

Thank you Carplos. Do you have to change the brackets every year to match up the WC with a nondivisional opponent or will it automatically do that? Also can I change this just before the playoffs during the regular season?

If you use the seedings they don't automatically account for the division winners before the wild card, I believe. You'd have to pair them up using the position option before finishing the last day of the regular season.

You will have to change it if it gives you a division vs division opponent, however you can change it just after the season ends.

Home field advantage can be changed in the schedule editor. Once the game has set up the schedules for a given playoff round, you can then go into the editor and change that schedule. While you cannot change the matchup, you can change what days the games are played on and which team is the home team. So if you wanted to give a team all seven games at home in a best-of-seven series, you could do that.
At least, this used to work in prior OOTP versions. I'm assuming it still does this year... |

Bit easier to just use custom playoffs now, since you can select the number and order of H/R games.
