Illegal Roster Size?

I have the latest patch installed, and I'm playing a major league game as the Atlanta Braves. I have set the option that allows me to have incomplete minor league rosters. I don't normally do minor-league promotions and demotions by hand. I just click on Action and tell the game to set my rosters, both minor and major leagues. Late in my first season, right after doing this, I tried to continue my game, but I got an error message that said there were an illegal number of players on the roster of my GCL team. There were six players on that team. I tried deleting six more players from my system so that there were no players on my GCL team, but I still got the same error message. This is a show stopper. I cannot continue playing. I might mention that this is the third game that I've begun under this patch. I haven't encountered this problem with the previous two games.

Is this a game started as a MLB 2008 roster set or a quickstart? If the former, did you install the patches fully or as just an exe update?

This is a full Major League game and, yes, I downloaded and installed all 221 megs of the patch, and over a dial-up connection.

Maybe I didn't make myself clear. I created this game using the "New 2008 Major League Game" button on the opening menu.

Er, I believe that the game was telling you that you didn't have enough players on that affiliate, rather than too many. (Somehow despite your settings.) Did you try putting more players on that team?
