Should I keep my fantasy team as is or shake it up??
Well just got done my draft a couple days ago, and I have to say I really feel I have the best shot at winning if all my guys play like they did last year and they stay healthy. With that said I have some concerns that Ill share with you after I list my team.BTW, it's a 10 team league with a standard 5x5 head to head weekly format. My team as of now is as follows.
C-Shoppach 1B- Huff 2B- Utley SS- Young 3B- Ramirez OF- Sizemore OF- Holliday OF- Ludwick UTL- Abreu BN- Glaus BN- Giambi SP- Haren SP- Oswalt SP- Lowe SP- Baker SP Wang SP- Meche SP- Jimenez SP- Oliver Perez SP- Cain RP- K-Rod RP- Valverde RP- Fuentes RP- Gonzalez Im real happy with most of my team but as you can see Im very concerned with how well Ludwick and Huff will do this season, maybe Holliday as well too. Anyway, Im thinking of trying to trade Ludwick and Huff etc and working a way to get Cabrera. What do u guys think should I try to unload them and get something or keep it as it. I also flirted with the idea of trying to keep one of them and shop a smaller trade for a power guy like thome etc, so i have some insurance. What do u guys think??? |

You lack speed assuming that is Aramis Ramirez at 3b? You have an a lot of power so it would be easy for you to trade that. Your pitching staff is pretty decent but you could use more strikeouts. Closers are top notch. I must say it is an impressive looking team on paper.
As far as trading for Thome I feel you are just fine in power the way it is. I think a guy like Rollins(runs, SB) would be your best area to upgrade. |

yea it's aramis at third. actually my pitching staff has a good number of strikeouts right now with most guys having at least 180ks last season and oswalt and lowe are elite and should do well in all other areas besides ks. As far as my lineup while its true i have a ton of power i also have a fair amount of speed. I dont have that guy like a jroll who is gonna steal and hit etc but i have sizemore who stole 38 last year, holliday who swiped 28 last year, and abreu who stole 22 and should steal more around 30 this year. i am worried about holliday in oakland though due to the fact that they've never been big on stealing and his numbers are likely to go down. Anyway, despite what seems like good power huff and ludwick had career years last year and its somewhat unlikely they'll do it again in 09. If they dont perform like they did last year my team is in big big trouble.

Yeah, you are way short in speed. I'm also not real high on Kelly Shoppach. He might struggle to get more than 200 ABs. Especially in a weekly format, he may have weeks where he gets 4 ABs.
I would also question your strikeout assessment. Oswalt is not the K guy he used to be and the Lowe/Baker/Wang/Meche crowd are all non-K pitchers. But, those are all OK pitchers to have (except maybe Meche - he doesn't add a whole lot). Not bad though. You got a chance anyway. |
