Question about playoffs

I was under the impression that when player is injured during the regular season and is eligible to come off the DL while the playoffs have already begun that he could not be put on the current playoff roster. I have never addressed this problem before but if this is true has that situation be taken care of in OOTPX because computer controlled teams always do this and if I manage team I can also do this.

According to the rules, he can only come off the DL and into the playoff roster in between series (assuming he's eligible for the playoffs at all). OOTP doesn't follow any of these rules. There is no playoff roster, and you can promote/demote/shuffle players around whenever you feel like it.

Yes, I know these rules. But they have not been implemented into OOTP yet. I'll have a look at this for a OOTP 10 patch

Quit harrassing the man with questions until after he sends out the download link, then bother him all you want, but until then it just delays him to answer you

Speaking of playoffs, I had my last set of playoffs last night in ootp9.

Once again, even tho the computer teams had clinched a week before the season had ended, they didn't manage their starting pitching so they could start their ace in game one, or with 2 teams, even the #2 starter. This gives one of those unfair advantages to the player that house rules can't change.

Has this been fixed or at least looked at for 10?

Tom

I have not tested this extensively, but it has been a pet peeve in our league for a while, and I know it was reported, claimed fixed and tested during beta. I'll look up the BZ later. If fixed, that means it's going to do a better job of managing this scenario.

No guarantees, but it looks fixed to me in testing.

I can't say who's tested what, and I'm sure I haven't thought of every scenario, but it looks better to me.
