Probably a stupid question, but...

Has anyone noticed any differences between the outcome of the game/season if you just click 'sim game' instead of watching the game develop throughout? Like is there a difference do you guys think? I'm just wondering... because I've gone 14-10 with the Yankees and am worried that if I start clicking 'Finish Today' or 'Auto-Sim Week' that my team will start sucking / be more vulnerable to injuries. Just wondering... thanks.

No, there is no difference, and no reason to believe that there could be a difference or what would cause a difference. Yet, human nature being what it is, there are people who believe otherwise.

Ah yes, SteveP, but the truth is out there.

Seriously though regarding the OP, the results themselves are determined by the algorithm. You may manage differently than the AI would with regards to all kinds of things, but what's that old theory about managers only making about a 3 to 5 game difference to their team's results? (Cito Gaston excepted of course ) Sounds about right, depending on how aggressive you are. If you want to save time by simming, make sure you set up the AI, right down to the individual players, the way you want it, otherwise you'll be cussing at the "stupid" AI. I shall defer to the Honourable SteveP on these settings as he has tested them six ways from Sunday over the last year and a half.

Let's be clear here!

I'm comparing simming multiple games vs. watching multiple game. I do both. I rarely intervene in a game unless the AI has painted itself into a corner with subs, etc. The point is: there is no difference in outcomes between simming games (and looking at box scores, or whatever) and sitting there watching what happens on a batter-by-batter basis.

Yeah, I'm sitting here watching a SP get hung out to dry because the AI team doesn't have "rested" relievers.....a 6-0 lead just evaporated and I wanted to step in to help!!! I felt bad coming back, if that's at all possible. I don't like to win because of the way the AI does things.
