AWESOME Customer Service, But Worried About No Email
I never did get the email. I never got the email of the newsletter announcing OOTP 11 (didn't read that until I came here one day).
I have checked and re-checked my spam settings. Yet here's the thing, when I get a PM, I ALWAYS get the email telling me I have a personal message. Now the customer service was simply AMAZING. I posted here yesterday asking whether or not I should be worried about not receiving the email, and within 5 minutes (I am NOT exaggerating) I get an email telling me I have a PM. It's from Markus, and it's the link. I've never experienced customer service like that from anyone else, and yet it was just example number 4 or 5 of what it's like here. But I'm worried what it means that I get the email announcing my PM's but don't get the other emails. Does anyone know any other "fixes" besides checking SPAM settings??

Did you check to see if you're subscribed to all mailings? I know sometimes you can accidentally click the unsub link and you won't get messages.

Perhaps it is a setting in your email client program, or an ISP setting at the provider level to prevent physing(sp?) mails?

but I'm not sure which you mean. I just checked my User CP again, and the only thing I could find that sounded like what you're talking about is the one pictured below. Is that the one?? Because as you can see, I have that one checked to receive emails. Sorry if I'm confusing the wrong checkbox.

I've received all of the emails EXCEPT the one with the preorder link. I actually forgot that the preorder came out yesterday (I've been pretty busy), so it's not a big deal. I'll wait until tomorrow to download 11.0.3 with everyone else.

Perhaps your E-mail client settings are to tight. I filter at two sources (via Yahoo and with Thunderbird at my computer). In most cases I can find a blocked E-mail and give it the ok.

We use a service to deliver our e-mails, and mail clients are getting pickier and pickier about what they consider "spam". This year, gmail in particular has been fussy about our e-mails. We've spoken to our service about it, but it's a tough problem to get around, as the e-mail services are constantly changing their rules and so forth. It's very frustrating for us, too, to send out critical notices and have our customers not get them.
Thanks for your patience, though!
