Other players affecting team chemistry?
Do you guys often do sign someone who expects to, for example be a closer, and you know you can't come through with that expectation? I have someone who expects to be in the Starting Lineup but will be signing him just to be a primary backup. Will that ruin team chemistry or his performance?
This topic is basically a question regarding team chemistry as well. If a number of players are angry, will it affect the team's chemistry? Or perhaps it only affects team chemistry when it is those who have High leadership are mad?

I suspect that this isn't being answered because nobody knows.
It's fairly clear that an unhappy player will perform badly. That's a logical result and one that it's relatively easy to test and verify. Does he make other players perform badly? I don't think anyone really knows. It would make a certain amount of sense, but it's extremely hard to test. I would say the answer is, "probably, but maybe not." As to whether I sign guys with expectations I can't meet -- no, never. On the other hand, if I end up with guys whose expectations I can't meet (maybe their expectations changed since I signed them, maybe I had a minor league promotion that filled in their regular position), I'll often keep him around until he starts getting really upset. |

As far as I know, morale only affects a player's willingness to sign. It doesn't affect his play on the field. As far as I know, leadership and "team chemistry" either don't exist or don't exist enough to matter at all. Angry players won't make other players angry.
This game isn't like FM, that tries to model human behavior and make that a part of gameplay. This is a stat driven engine with a little bit of contract negotiation dabbling on the side. I've never traded a player just because he was unhappy. |

Tough question, been asked before and nobody is for certain. If one of my players gets upset I kick his ass out or tell him to put up with it.
