This needs to be implemented into the game. This would be great for online leagues. As of now you have to risk trading for a player in the last year of their contract and risk finding out that they refuse to sign an extension. Being able to negotiate for a week or so before the trade goes through would be great.

Good idea. Especially as how this is a critical element to trades in nearly every sport.
