Activate Every Time
I had to reinstall Windows 7 on my laptop last night and before doing so I unlicensed the game and made sure everything was ready. Today when I installed OOTP it now asks for the key every time. It accepts the key and I can start the game and even sim through my league. Its definetly not in demo mode.
I have run as admin. I have restarted. I have made sure there was no space at the end of the key. I am using the latest patch. I have disabled the firewall. I have tried yelling and screaming at the computer. Nothing seems to work. I can use the game normally but its a bit annoying having to license each and every time. |

Not sure if this will help or not as I just recently installed Win 7, but look in C:\Users\"your win 7 user name"\AppData\Roaming\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 11\config or where ever this may be installed on your system and see if you have this file "key.cfg" . If not search for it ..and if it's in a different location than above, copy it to where OOTP keeps it's config files, pretty sure that has to be in the above folder and path for the game to recognize your license..
Also if the above is fine then try to unlicense, restart your puter and license it again and see if that helps.. If not, contact tech support and they'll get ya fixed.. Hope this helps. |

Thank you for the response. I have tried both and neither works. Unfortunately I am at a loss. Its frustrating. I have sent in a ticket though.

So I am still having this issue. Heck, I even reformatted and reinstalled Windows on my laptop and I am still having the issue. Turns out its also happening on my desktop. I sent in a ticket and have not gotten an answer back just yet. I can continue to play the game but it adds one more step that I have to go through just to play. Its annoying.

Did you disable UAC "User Access Control" in windows before you installed the game? and then install ootp as administrator? Even though you install programs as administrator, If you don't turn off UAC first, it will/can still block some files from writing to documents folders..
Also, start the game and when the opening screen comes up click on game preferences. When that window opens, click on troubleshooting. Then click on "open file containing app.cfg" and make sure key.cfg file is there. If it isn't that's your problem. If it is, open it with notepad and make sure it contains your license key. I'm currently real busy updating Rosters for 12 so I can't get here as much...I'll help as much as I can but, PM me with your answers as I constantly check my pm's..
