iPhone Explorer Solution: "file or directory not found"
For those of you who want to add custom logos to your iOOTP saves, I highly recommend "iPhone Explorer", which you can use to access the directories on your iPhone or iPad, including the folders for iOOTP.
iPhone Explorer is a great tool, but may be frustrating for some who've installed it and continue to get "file or directory not found" errors when trying to open directories on their iPhone/iPad. I had the same issue. It was solved using this tricky little technique: - Launch iOOTP - Create a new historical or MLB league - Close iOOTP - Connect your iPhone/iPad to your PC/Mac - iTunes will probably launch automatically; when you can, close it. Here's the tricky part: - Launch iPhone Explorer - The instant the iPhone Explorer window appears, quickly click on the "Apps" tree to reveal all the app folders on your i-device You MUST do this quickly. I don't know why it makes a difference to do it quickly, but if you do it fast enough, it allows you to then do this: - Scroll down the directory listing and click on the OOTP folder - The OOTP folder will open to reveal all of the application folders - Locate the OOTP directory containing your saved game files (similar structure to the PC/Mac version) - In the HTML/News folders, find the "Images" folder. Replace the default icons with your custom versions. That's it. A bit of a pain, but once you get used to clicking the "Apps" folder quickly, you should be able to swap out or replace whatever files you want. |

iPhone Explorer is a PC/Mac application, so you need to download it to your laptop or desktop computer and install it there. You would then connect your iPhone or iPad to your laptop/desktop and follow the instructions above. PadresFan came up with a slightly more succinct version of these instructions, which you may find helpful, too (although his steps assume you're not having the "directory not found" issue): Quote:

adding logos?
So I am interested in adding the circle logos from cpt. walrus but realized it seems to have 237 images... Do I just copy all of them and they will replace all the logos including minor league teams or do I only replace the ML teams etc...? Sorry, total newbie here!

4) Using iPhone Explorer, navigate to: apps/iootp2011/Documents/iootp2011/saved_games/your saved game/news/html
If you use this method, you have to do this every time you create a new game. I put the ML logos into this folder in Iphone Explorer: iOOTP2011.app/iOOTPData/Logos I tested it by creating 2 new games and both times the logos appeared in the game. If you put logos into the saved games folder they will only appear in that particular game. Hope this helps. |

Update
I did the 30 ML Teams as well since I am unsure how they do any other logos etc... I haven't been able to get the NL and AL logos to change? Any suggestions of where the NL or AL logos will be in the game to see if they registered my change? For now it doesn't appear to be working.

FWIW, I was able to use iPhone explorer to copy a league from my iPod Touch to my PC and then from my PC to my iPhone.
That means we can use this tool to backup leagues to a PC and restore them if something goes wrong. ![]() |

Has anyone come accross an error where Microsoft Windows automatically shuts down iPhone Explorer?
Sometimes it happens simply when trying to open the program, even when running as administrator. Other times, I can get as far as the logos folder, but that's when my time runs out & it shuts down again - I've not even gotten close to copying any custom logos over! ![]() Is there any alternatives to iPhone Explorer, that dont require me to jailbreak my phone? |
