Historical sim - minor league
I am now up to 1930 in my historical sim, and have just added a AAA level to the league. I have done this primarily to help me get my pitching rotation sorted out.
Basically I can get 2 or 3 pitchers going well, but shuffling through the reserve to find the 3rd/4th can take some time. If I am quick, I get back on top, if it is slow I get too far behind to make a run for the pennant. So I have figured having the AAA league will allow me to see stats for pitchers if I find my rotation is not performing well, and can slot in the best performer in the AAA. I can stay above the .500 most years (due to early success in sim I am sort of a George Steinbrenner, as in the team has the highest payroll, and rakes in the cash. I have plenty for extensions and free agents, and as I am almost always in the bottom half of draft, rarely get to draft a good prospect - so I forgo the draft picks when I can pay for star free agents). I would like to note that although I knew of this game's existence when it was 3 or 4, I have only recently started playing it (OOTP 11 was cheap on Impulse for DL, now playing 12). It was only my son (6 yrs) that started playing tee-ball last year that has brought out a passion for baseball. (My wife and I are now active in our son's club and we attend our local Sydney Blue Sox - ABL home games when we can.) I would just like to thank the OOTP Dev team for this game and the new addiction it has brought me ![]() |
