Fictional Divisions Reset
While developing a fictional league, when I am setting the minor league divisions and then start moving teams around, as soon as I move one team, the division names automatically reset to default Eastern and Western Divisions, to which I have to change it back to the names I had selected. Then I move another team around and again, it resets. This mostly happens with my minor league divisions.
I don't know whether or not to call this a bug or an annoyance. Anyone else had this issue and what would you call it?

Haven't seen this, but in the interim, why not just make all your changes then go and edit them back? I know it doesn't solve the problem, but at least you'd only have to do it once.

I suspect what is happening here is that when you move clubs around OOTP is looking at the geographic distribution of the cities within the divisions, and it finds the new lineup is now oriented more on a north-south basis than an east-west and thus it figures it makes more sense to call the divisions North and South. If you move around a few more cities the distribution changes, and thus it may revert back to a more east-west alignment and thus East and West get used for the division names.

Signalbrat, are your changes one at a time during a single offseason, or are you talking about changing one in year 1, then again in year 2, etc?

Unless it doesn't work with whatever process you use to decide on the moves, I would recommend following the advice given by Bluenoser and move all the teams at once, then change the division names.
I'm not sure if it is SUPPOSED to changed them when you move teams or not though. |
