Sign and Trade
One thing that still bothers me from time to time when I see it happen is.. the CPU AI will give a player a contract extension and then trade them right afterwards.
I think it's an arbitration issue. Right after 2027, Miami has a 26yr old stud who was making $3.8, instead of arbitration, they give him a 1yr $7 mil extension and then trade him for two minor leaguers and give the team $3 mil in cash. It makes no sense at all to me.

I have signed a player to a 3 year contract and ended up trading him away in less than 24 game hours after the ink dried... The trade as it turned out to be good for both my team and that of AI controlled team

sign and trade is a real part of pro sports and at times saves teams from getting minimal draft compensation for losing a good player. nothing wrong with the game featuring such moves.

The possibility of a quick trade is a major driver of no trade no movement clauses IMO

I'm not sure how I see that on a CPU owned team? (Arb est) If I did sign someone and then decide to trade him (a really good player) I wouldn't get the two AA scrubs they got in return. This is a team that just went to the World Series... |

Plus Miami has plenty of money and the SS they traded away was a popular player both locally and well known nationally.
