Couple of more minor league questions

When trying to set up my historical AAA league (1976), when I go to each team's front office and then personnel, some of the teams have a manager, some don't (but they have a hitting coach and pitching coach). Is there a way to add the manager?

Also I want to add players onto those AAA teams who eventually made it to the major leagues. I know how to import the players through the text files (using the Baseball reference ID codes), my question concerns the historical almanac. Let's say I import Bo Diaz to the 1976 Rhode Island Red Sox using his BB Reference ID. Will there only be one Bo Diaz in my almanac which includes his 1976 minor league stats and then his stats each year after? Or will another Bo Diaz appear in 1977 when he made it the majors? Hope this question makes sense! Just trying to make it as real as possible like when you look at a players baseball card and it includes both his minor and major league stats!

If you are asking how to assign the correct managers to all the teams, it's pretty easy. Just search the appropriate manager, go into the edit tab, and change his team and job to the desired location.

If you are asking about historical minor leaguers the game doesn't ship with them. However Gambo and spritze have a historical player database you can download and put in the game that will include historical minor leaguers and such. Although I don't believe they will automatically go to the correct teams.

go with hfield's suggestion

Hopefully you are not too far into your league

Spritze's OOTP 14 DB will import all older guys who were still in the minors, young guys yet to be called up and retired players, including guys who never played in the majors who were managers later

Then do a global search for the manager/coach and under options, choose, make coach and fix his job (he'll be a bench coach as first) and his ratings + strategy

If you search 1974 Boston Red Sox in wikipedia, it shows all coaches, the GM, etc. , down below show all executives and you can search who the scouting director was back then as well

Also, remember that we have strategy files now, so in TEAM settings, you can choose IMPORT strategy file in the team strategy section

If Gambo and Spritze databases are a somewhat of a foreign concept to you, you might want to check this out: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...t-summary.html. Among other things, what might be of particular interest to you is that it will explain - for each database - when players will debut and whether they will debut to their actual team, most-common team, or as a free agent.

Disclaimer - As far as I know the info in the linked thread was mostly-accurate when written, and remains so as Spritze had updated his db's and OOTP15 has been introduced. But I am not certain of either.
