Unknown City of Birth in Draft Pool?

Hey guys. Newcomer to the game and loving it so far. One very small thing I noticed in my games though, is that when the draft pool is published, high school players always have their city of birth listed as unknown, while city of birth is listed for the college players. Is this done on purpose or is this something fixed in a patch? Or perhaps maybe it's something with my game. I don't know. It's not really affecting my gameplay or anything so no big deal, but it kind of bugs the perfectionist in me. I was hoping maybe one of you guys could shed some light on the subject.

I have never seen this. I'm completely at a loss of what to tell you past post it in the bug report thread. All I can tell you is that is abnormal and should not be acting like that. I'm sure another forum vet will come along with some actual advice at some point too. I'm not always the most helpful.

Note to self: Princess Kenny was really off-putting.

If it's the real players in the MLB quickstart you're talking about the answer is simple, we haven't had the time to get to editing all of the 10,000 or so guys! We'll be adding the correct cities, correct dob's, changing ratings etc. for quite some time in order to get everything perfect. It's just going to take a while given how much there is to do.

Ahhh..so the draft prospects in the first season are real guys? Just googled a prospect and he's real, so it makes sense now. And you guys have just done some of the college guys so far? Okay, yeah. That makes sense. Can't believe I didn't realize that. D'oh! Not a bug after all! Thank you.

I usually don't associate with people who have infractions. Only the worst most-terrible slugs get infractions.

We've done some of the HS guys as well, but less of them.

It's not just the first season that's full of real players, it's the first three seasons!

Plus we'll be getting 2017 full of real guys eventually and adding/moving a lot of current HS guys to the 2018 and 2019 drafts as college players as well.

I can't honestly think of a time I haven't had an infraction on this forum. Kinda like how I'm always thread-jacking people.

You're welcome!

Credit is primarily due to Matt Garrioch, the draft guy from John Sickels' minorleagueball.com site. He's done most of the work on adding all those real guys to the draft and done a great job with it!

He and I will keep working on the draft guys and getting them looking better and more realistic over time. We're even hoping to add the real stats for most guys, though it may be some time before that happens.
