Signing international amateur free agents

Hey all,

Brand new to OOTP Baseball. Long time BM player who just got sick and tired of the lack of features in that game. OOTP is insane with all the depth, and I love it!

I just passed July 1 in my first season, and international free agents are able to be signed. It says to right-click on the player name and then click "offer contract." The next line says "Your team does not have any restrictions for signing international amateur players this year."

However, whenever I right-click on any player in the FA list at the bottom of the screen, the "Offer Contract" option is never listed. The choices are:

1. Open player profile
2. Shortlist player
3. Compare player
4. Request Scouting Report
5. Create Note

I'm not sure what I'm doing incorrectly here. Any tips?

1) Just to check, are you past the signing deadline?
2) Are you definately in control of a team? You can play the game without assigning your manager to a team.

No, not passed the deadline, it was the day after it started. And yes, I am in control of a team.

I actually figured it out. I noticed that all players who signed were 18, and no one 16 or 17 had signed. I checked the settings of my game and it said the minimum age for being on the active roster was 18; I thought this was MLB, not any roster. I changed it to 0 (for no minimum) and I could then make offers to players.
