Can't spend budget?

My budget is 200 million yet I can only spend 160 million of it. How do I allow myself to spend over 160 million while also being under 200 million without going into commissioner mode?

How much are you spending on coaching staff, scouting, drafting and player development? My guess it's $40 million.

Oh god damn I'm so dumb. I thought budget meant player contracts only. And here I was giving like 1m to a double A manager because why not since I thought it had no bearing! Thanks

Don't worry about it, the financial stuff can be very tricky. Also, it's important to note that the computer will factor future contract dollars and estimated arbitration amounts into stuff like this, so sometimes the owner will refuse to let you sign a player because it would be fine for this year, but it would put you way over budget for next year.

Yeah I've been playing for a couple month but on Commissioner mode. So I know the game, but financially I'm a noob. I once had a payroll of 425m one year, so now I'm challenging myself.
