Releasing players...financial impacts

The following pertains to releasing players with multi-year contracts. The pop up menu claims that the remaining player salary will be spread over the life of the contract; as opposed to paying out in one lump sum as was the case with previous versions of OOTP.

When I release a player with a multi-year contract in '15, his remaining salary for the current year is added to this year's misc. player expenses. However, there is nothing added to the projected misc. player expenses for the following year - which I assume would have been the case if the salary cost was spread out over time. I haven't simmed through to the following year to see what actually happens.

The manual for '15 still says you pay out the full contract upon release: "If you choose to release a player from his contract, you must immediately pay all of the remaining salary due on the contract, even if it spans multiple years." http://manuals.ootpdevelopments.com/ind ... s_overview

So, what actually happens with the remaining salaries for released players?

Does their future salaries have any future salary cap impact?

Yes, I'm curious if anyone has an answer to devaneyfan's question? From my tests it looks like you're only financially on the hook for the current year salary.
