looking for a new league idea

I've tried everything I can think of to start with a crappy team and turn it around. I've done many versions of expansion, I've started with Houston. I've even taken the Cubs and cut the entire big league roster and started over. I always end up with low talent / low payroll teams built around guys who were FAs in the default rosters and the ability to trade my youth. I'm bored.

My latest idea is to start totally from scratch and do an inaugural draft, but to make it harder on myself by not allowing my team to pick for maybe the first 10 rounds. My questions are:
-I think inaugural drafts will assign players fictional contracts. is that true?
-Will the salary cap option work better if I start w/ a draft, or does the AI not know how to consider that when drafting?
-How can I predict what the contracts will be?
-What is your opinion on my idea to not allow myself to draft for x rounds? My plan will be to build around youth, bullpen, defense and speed. How many rounds should I sit out?
-Any other experience you can give me on the pitfalls of an innaug draft, besides that it will take forever?

Thanks Padre. most of these ideas have to do w/ fictional leagues. i want to use real players, real MLB format. I'm mainly looking for input on my questions regarding inaugural drafts, and the possibility of using the salary cap with them. But, you did give me the idea to search some of those topics and see if such questions have already been asked and answered.

Instead of not drafting for X rounds just don't pick anyone higher than 3 stars.

Salary caps don't work exactly like NFL salary caps. (you can spend over the cap but once you're over you can't spend more)

You can have real MLB players in fictional leagues too. So you can still do any of the leagues in the other threads with real players.

If you want a real challenge don't draft anyone higher than 2 stars. When I play Madden 08 (the last madden on PC) I do a fantasy draft and draft the 55 worst players (positionally) and make a garbage team then I see how many years it takes me to win the championship. If you try that in OOTP though I'd turn off the ability to get fired.
