Greatest Fictional Player of All Time?
I'd love to see leagues or solo players post their greatest fictional player of all time. In my league (ABL), Maurice "Doughboy" Gould is clearly a front runner in a league that is heavy with hitting as well.
Player Report for #11 Maurice 'Doughboy' Gould Code:

Five-time 20 game winner, won at least 15 games in 10 seasons, career ERA under 3.00 in a "heavy hitting" league, 5 CYA's and extremely popular despite being a loner and a money-grabber. OK, he might be eligible for my HoF if he addresses his relatively low career wins. He needs to play a few more years and get into the mid 200's. Sorry, I'm tough.
![]() ![]() I'll let the eggheads argue over the VORP and WAR - I don't pay attention to those.

I would equate this career closest to the above mentioned Pedro, so yea. He's a HOFer in my book already. If he started younger or pitches a couple more quality years, he'll be a sure fire HOFer. But to be the best of all time conversation, he needs a longer career in my book.

I post this guy all the time. The best ever, no one is close and he was not edited or enhanced.

This pitcher in my fictional league was amazing. Unfortunately, he didn't pitch for me.
P.S. He won the Best Pitcher Award in his league 11 times. He holds the career records for wins (345), innings pitched (4689), strikeouts (5028), and WAR (197.1). Last edited by Orcin; 12-19-2014 at 08:15 AM. |

Yeah it surprised me too, I see seasons like those, but not as consistently as he was able to put them up. His SB are far and away the best in the league usually the closest finishing with 110-150

I have him on my team now Maple. So hopefully we will get there! His playoff record hasn't been that great too but, nobody compares to him in the regular season. Thanks for your reply! Jason |

This guy has been pretty amazing. I edited him quite a bit, but a .500 average for a whole season is still pretty impressive, despite the use of PEEs (Performance-Enhancing Edits). And before you ask, the league is on your basic 1997 settings. He was actually created as an experiment in how good a guy could be if you edited him to near-maximum levels. An OOTP Frankenstein, if you will.
![]() As far as unedited guys go, Todd Robbins has put up some eye-popping numbers for Buffalo: ![]() Last edited by ThatSeventiesGuy; 12-19-2014 at 05:02 PM. |

The first player is the one for whom the award is named, Pete Brymer. He didn't have the most wins, but overall he was the best.
The second is Tommy Frederick. While he is 2nd on the all time home runs list (behind Hugo Volonte, with 692 and still active), no other batter has hit as consistently as Tommy. Tommy won 9 Luis Molina awards; but Luis Molina never dreamed of stats like these. The owners committee is voting this offseason to consider changing the name of the Luis Molina award to the Tommy Frederick award.
