Yet another auto jersey loading problem...

The problems just never cease, do they?

As I mentioned in my previous Automatic Jersey Loading Problem thread, It seemed that some teams in my MLB Replay didn't load at the right time, and i would have to use the Find function to give the team the correct uniforms. Soon, it got to be where I had to do this for almost every team.

Then, I read that you can place the jerseys, ballcaps, and logos in the save file of the game that you're playing, and the jerseys will still load. I thought that the jerseys would load better that way. So I tediously moved all the historical ballcaps, jerseys, and logos to the appropriate folders in my MLB Replay folder, thereby removing them from the main folder.

Then, after that was done, I loaded the game up. Now there's another problem.

The logos load up but the jerseys don't. When I first noticed this, I tried using the find function, but to no avail. This is just unacceptable.

Edit: Some pictures to illustrate my problem:

Here are my Tigers at the beginning of 1941. As you can see, neither the ballcap nor the jersey have loaded. (I decided to keep the minor league logos and uniforms in the main game folder)

As you can see, I placed the jerseys in the correct folder within the save game file.

... and the same for the caps. In the center you can see the horrendous game-generated Tigers cap.

After some thought, I decided to put the logos back in the main game folder.

I just can't continue the game like this.

HELP!!!!!

I don't have a good answer, other then this happens to me to. I either go into the folders and find a odd typo, or some reason for this thats really easy to miss, or i go in game to change to the correct logo manually. This usually works, but isn't a guarantee.

I have a real issue with how logos and jerseys work in game. It isn't really user friendly, and someone who isn't familiar with the forums would have no hope at making them work right. Hopefully, they will fix this for versions going forward.

When i say fix this, i would suggest that in game, where you change the logo and uniform, is where your change should stick. You should not have to go and edit things in the background with folders and file names. Whats the point of having the option in game if it doesn't work....

I could be wrong about all of this but the Find function and searching for year in the file name will only look in the main jersey/logo/cap folders (default location, you can change the where it looks in Game Settings->Database->along the right side).

The saved game folders only uses files named jerseys_team_name.png (or caps_team_name or just team_name for logos, make sure you delete the different sized logo versions, the game will automatically recreate them when you load the league).

Since you moved everything to the saved game folders and it doesn't look like you had an image named as above a generic cap was made and saved as caps_detroit_tigers. As a test take one of the other detroit cap images, rename it caps_detroit_tigers and place it in the saved game caps folder, and see if it appears correctly when you start the game back up.

Yep that worked. But I think I'm going to move the jerseys and caps back to the main folder.
