Late season collapses

I've been playing OOTP for a few years now and this is a new issue that I'm seeing in 16. I went about 10 years into my franchise, and every time I actually tried to compete for the playoffs (probably all but two seasons where I tore it down and rebuilt) my team suffered late season collapses. Literally without fail, and in the same fashion. They play fine until about mid-August, when the wheels completely fall off and they lose something ridiculous like 20 out of 25 games. It would be fine if this happened once or twice, but it's almost every year.

I even tried mixing it up. I would swap fatigued or struggling players for minor leaguers, sign fresh players out of FA, or even just let the CPU set my lineups or rotation. One year I even signed Trout, Tulo and Jorge Soler just as an experiment to see if it would make any difference. Same exact thing. Team storms out of the gate, goes 53-35 before finishing 80-82.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the difficulty of the game. It was really fun in past years fighting to make the postseason and taking decades to win your first title, that's a lot of the appeal of the game for me. But the team collapsing ever year in the same fashion...annoying. Not sure if something changed this year or what, but it got old and I eventually just deleted my save file cause my team had gotten kind of ridiculous (I was a small market club stacked full of MVPs and all-stars signed from elsewhere, and I prefer to keep it realistic).
