Teams Have No Available Cash For Trades

In my 1969 historical replay I am getting about half of the teams who has no money available for trades (meaning it shows they are negative). This has happened to me in every one of my 8 seasons even though the past four seasons I have been making over $1M in profit per season.

My owner spending is at 7 with a neutral win/profit preference.

I still have the reserve clause enabled in 1981 so I'm guessing that is the culprit. Teams have money available for free agents and extensions but not trades. It doesn't make much sense. It should know there is no free agency and apply those available funds to trades.

I don't know if it is just me, but I keep trying to create "what if" alternate realities in historical leagues and the game just doesn't seem to be able to handle anything but the default set up...
