Historical Draft

I started a new historical game, year starting 1970.
I erased all current players and set up a all rookie draft.
I told the game to use rookie players from 1876-1900.

When I went to the draft, the game imported all the rookies from that era but about 20 of them were from other eras.

First two players I saw were Bruce Kison and Burt Hooton, those players are from the 70's.

Any idea what caused this and is there any way to correct.

Thank you very much.

Well you are trying to use players from a time period when there were only eight teams and use them in an era when there were 24 teams - is one issue I see. Guess there aren't enough players in the time you told the game to use.

No the problem is it is bringing in the 1970 rookie class.

My point was that because you selected your draft class from early baseball when teams were few and numbers of players were small, there may not have been enough players to create a full class for a much later, 24 team league. So the game had to use extra players from 1970.

That's my guess anyway.

Any chance Kison & Hooten were FA? Hundreds of players played 1876 -1900. I used those years for a 30 team draft of 40 rounds and had 21 players left over approx. When do you have the draft set for? June or November? It should be November.

I have it set for March 1 because on January 2, I deleted all of the players.
I wanted to start the league with random rookies only.
