Rebuild with hitting

Not sure if anyone had the chance to post or read this article on the Chicago Cubs rebuild from last year.
It applies to OOTP as most of us think the best way to rebuild is with pitching and more pitching, but this Grantland article is explaining why the Cubs have been going with a hitting first rebuild.
And it makes a few interesting points I never thought about.

Thought it might generate some interesting discussion about how to build a team.

I think the reason most teams rebuild with pitching is because pitching is because pitching is more often the failure with those teams. With the Cubs the past couple years they've needed hitting and had decent enough pitching. So you get the reverse trend with them.
