Congrats

As a 15 year-old working their first job, OOTP managed to get me to part with half my first paycheck to check out OOTP Baseball 16. Don't know how you did it, but you did. I downloaded it, and it was love at first sight. What a game.

I hope you know that OOTP is a subscription service, requiring half of all your paychecks, for the rest of your life.

Maybe the 15 year old needs to be reassured that this is in jest....he was not even born when the first OOTP came out!

@OP Welcome to the OOTP club and I hope you can live with that screen name until you are 77!......

Congratulations on a very smart purchase! It will bring you much joy!

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask -- we are generally a very helpful bunch here and we all love this game!

As a 16 year old in a similar situation, I would like to thank my parents for getting me OOTP16 as a birthday gift so I didn't have to spend half my paycheck on it, as I did with 15.

I probably should have waited until after finals, but oh well. Temptation won out.

The great thing about OOTP is that even if you only have 15 minutes, you can still get something done.

Speak for yourself. I get very little done in any 15 minute time segment. Not working does that to you.

Oh, I don't get a lot done in 15 minutes, either... but I'll just randomly have 15 minutes and I'll go on and look at stats and think about what I might possibly do next.

I can get stuff "done" in OOTP without actually having to be in OOTP. For instance, I decided that I'm going to try to trade someone while my wife was driving today. I live outside Detroit so on Detroit sports radio they were talking about the Tigers young catcher, James McCann.

I also have a veteran catcher, like Alex Avila, and while MY veteran catcher isn't returning from injury, I'm in a spot where I'm going to have to give more at bats to my stud youngster catcher over the veteran.

Granted, I'm not that far in to the league to where I have a great connection to the player I will try to trade, but I made the decision in a snap, while not even playing the game.

That's what I mean... even thinking about players and possibilities is "getting something done" in my mind.

I hate to be the one that has to tell you this PoopyJoe69, but your life as you know it is now over. When you aren't staying up to late playing the game, you will be thinking about what trade you can make for your 35 year old starter who becomes a free agent at the end of the year. You will ignore your parents and when you see your siblings your mind will wonder off to thoughts of your top prospect and if he is ready to be put on the 40 man roster.

Yes, that was meant in jest. You unfortunately don't spend half your paychecks each time on the game - you spend half your free time playing it.

just remember there is no program to help with withdrawals from OOTP. Once your hooked your hooked for life. The OOTP team is very good at what they do and is conscious of what the customer base wants and they do what they can to make it happen some features requested takes a couple years and some right away. They are the best and they do seem to demand the best of the best to offer the best product. You will never ever find anything better and more addicting than OOTP

Welcome to the OOTP world.

When I was 10 I found Strat O Matic with the 1969 season. When I was your age I was still playing with dice and paper doing all record keeping by hand. I never dreamed a game like OOTP could even exist. I was lucky enough to find it at ~40 years old and couldn't believe how far things have come. It is the ultimate baseball game for those of us that love baseball, the numbers it produces, and the stories that make it's history. When I think of my OOTP world it is no different than thinking of real life MLB! You guys that are coming to the game as teenagers are so lucky, you have found a game you will be playing for the rest of your life.
