Feeder Competition Level

When evaluating players for the draft without feeders set up, the college/hs listed that the player attended also has a rating for competition assigned to it.
I am setting up my fictional league to use feeder leagues to stock our draft. Am I correct in assuming that the teams in my college feeder and high school feeder are on level ground with each other?

As long as you don't change the player generation settings, they seem to be fairly even. I've made some leagues with slightly higher/lower player creation modifiers to do different things in the past.

How did you do this? I'm working on a fictional league and would love to change the modifiers to create different competition levels.

I have two HS feeder leagues, I and II, and although not intended, one league does seem to produce a tad better crop of performers in its top schools. Purely anecdotal though.

Well sir, I changed the player creation modifiers to change the player creation modifiers. LOL.

Just look in your feeder league settings, you'll find it.

How I played it was in the United States Baseball I created and released in ootp14. I had normal feeders, and I had two "baseball academies" that were supposed to be the "cream of the crop" of the country. The regular feeders I left as is, the academies I added 10% to the default player creation modifiers to simulate their elite baseball training at the Academy level.

I also used the same principles in 2 leagues I never wrote about. One league I added 2 feeder teams where the player creation modifiers were 3 times the normal, and was playing to see with those 12 players a year how long it would take before "the robots took over mankind's pastime."

You can do some really creative **** if you know what you're doing and are patient and meticulous while you create your leagues.

Obviously, those leagues will produce all kinds of varied results, so they aren't for everyone, but it can definitely be used to simulate futuristic baseball, "immortals" descending to earth, lots of other things if you have an active imagination.

I was looking at that league, tempted to download the OOTP 14 demo and import it into 16. Looks really cool.

I'm really enjoying using feeders, so thanks for all your help.

You're welcome. My big project isn't using them because its a historical, but I will be eventually setting up another league and releasing it as a quickstart.

I love that league as well, its just a very big league and I'm not really sure I want to play that large of a single league again. It is a ton of fun, though... and very challenging. Trying to win a league championship in a 48-team league with no wildcard play is quite the daunting task.

I've had someone message me and say that had taken the USB Quickstart from 14 and imported it up into 16, but I have not done it myself so I can't tell you how well it comes out, personally.

I'm going to try it out, playing every game. I don't know how well it will work, but it's worth a try.
