Minor leagues

Not really new to the game - I know I can create a minor league system for each level, but really don't want ghost players.

When does minor league baseball start getting added into leagues created? I am doing a historic league - started in 1969, with no apparent minor league system, as each team only has the 25 man roster and reserve roster.

I took the Baltimore Orioles, GM only, wanted to let Earl Weaver guide the team. I made two keys trades - traded Don Buford for Jim Wynn and Clay Dalrymple for Tug McGraw. The team definitely didn't use Paul Blair as much as they did in real life.

We won the pennant, and the World Series - it is almost comical - the team chemistry is not very good - perhaps they don't like Weaver's aggressive managerial style.

Great start ---- on to 1970. My top pick in the draft at #24 was Paul Splitorff.

We don't have historical minors yet. You'd have to add those yourself.

I am simply asking, does the game automatically institute the minor league system or do I have to manually do that? I don't want ghost players. I wasn't sure - currently 1969 - it had the 25 man roster and a reserve roster only.

I was just wandering when minor league baseball is instituted.

Thanks!

You have to add them yourself.

There is an option in league setup to disallow ghost players. You would then have to carry enough players at each level to fill out lineups/rotations etc.

This would require you to fill them with fictional players (can be done from league setup) or sign a lot of FA's (provided you have enough to fill the amount of teams).

All leagues become fictional eventually, but some prefer not to have fictional players.

Also, you don't need to add every level of minors right away, you can add one level at a time, maybe a few seasons apart to give you more time to fill them.

Decisions, decisions , but lots of fun making them as you create your world

Thanks! Is there a simple way to do this - It has been awhile

I want to create AAA only in 1970 - International League, Pacific Coast League, and American Association.

Then in 1972 add AAA and in 1974 add A.

Appreciate the responses.
