Black ink not working as intended

I like the new feature of black ink for a league-leading stat. However, when a player leads a historical league, the black ink also carries over to his real-life stats. I'm pretty sure Steve Renko did not lead the league with six wins in real-life 1969.

That's because it's not working as intended it's not supposed to be a big black box it supposed to be just a red ink

Look at first post in page 6

Follow those instructions. Your skins are messed up and should not look like a black box

While I am sure the OP does not like the "black box" showing up, I read the issue to be that the game was showing a "leader" stat that it should not have. I agree that it is unlikely that the player led the league in wins with 6. The game showing that the player led the league, rather than the ugly black box, is the real issue here.

What you say is true, but what the OP says is true too. Even with the messed up skin, he should not have a black box around that 6 in 1969.

Did he lead your league in wins in 1969, OP?

He led my historical league in wins with 21 in 1969. The screenshot above shows his Real-Life Stats. That is the issue, and CHOWDERHEAD and Questdog summed it up perfectly. I apologize for the misleading thread title.

I don't care about the box being black (I can fix that issue with my skin, and thanks, Padreman, for the heads-up), but I care that it erroneously shows that in real life, his six real-life wins led MLB. Obviously, that's incorrect.

It's not limited to Renko, either. Rusty Staub had 111 RBIs in my 1969 historical league, and that led the league. But his real-life RBI total (somewhere in 70s, IIRC) did not lead the league, yet that designation shows up in his Real-Life Stats screen.

Are his simulated stats being correctly highlighted?

Yes, the simulated stats are recognized properly. What appears to be happening is that simulated league-leading stats are also being recognized as being real-life league-leading stats.

So it sounds like that the game is applying the "black leader highlighting" based upon the in game season in which the player led the league in wins. That seems right. The problem becomes that it then is affecting the "real life" stats page for that same season, which it clearly should not. Seems like a bug to me.

This has been fixed in the next patch.

P.S. Real life stats will not be highlighted at all, however if you import the complete history from before the season you begin, players' normal stats pages will be highlighted for things they actually led the league in for previous seasons.
