Can I Prevent AI Demotion?
I have a player that I believe is better than the AI feels at CF. The AI wants to demote the player to AAA.
Can I do one or both of these: (1) Prevent the AI from demoting the player, although not necessarily forcing the AI to start the player at CF. (2) Both prevent the AI from demoting the player AND force the AI to start him at CF. I see there is a "Lock to current minor league team (prevent promotion/demotion)" but I'm not sure if that only applies if the player is in the minors. Thanks! |

In the "Team Control" settings you can make sure you are the one doing the promotions and demotions. Secondly if you are the GM and you dont have a controlling manager I believe you can set up any lineup the way you want to!

But I guess my point is I want the AI to control promotions and demotions with the exception of a certain player(s). I don't want to have to keep tract of 60+ minor league players. So can I do that? |

You can however, lock players to a certain level. That may help you some. This is done through individual player strategy setting. |

Right click the player name click transactions and disable AI promotion/demotion. One of the best features in the game.

Ok I did notice this option, but this works for players in the Major League as well as Minors...in other words, preventing a demotion from ML to AAA? The reason I ask is that the button has a parenthetical description that says "Prevents promotion/demotion for minor league player" so I wasn't sure if it worked while the player is in ML, which is what I'm trying to accomplish; I have a player that I don't want demoted but the AI keeps demoting him to AAA.

OK, not sure if I am doing something wrong, but when I promote my player to the ML and then ask the AI to set up entire organization and roster, it continues to demote this very same player to AAA. I have checked the box but it seems that only works if he's in the minors, it doesn't seem to work from preventing a demotion from the ML to the minors. Is this correct? Is there something I'm missing?

Not intending to be a smart ass but why ask the AI to set up the organization if this happens. Of course you can do it then put him on the team and he should stay until you ask again. Just don't ask again. I realize that is not a very good answer but in this particular case it's the only one.

If you combine that with force start and forced role for pitchers and locking AI demotion and 7-day lineups you can have complete control over every single player in the organization. I've played this way for many versions.
