Awful team defensive eff. Help!

Hey guys, i am new to baseball and OOTP in general. That being said, i've been playing around with a couple saves for the last couple months and loving it so far...

Now, i have a Colorado Rockies series going. I am now in year 2021 and made the playoff ever since 2016, winning last 2 world series... So my team is beastly built, on the offensive side. I've been leading the league in offense by a great margin. But on the defensive side, i am god awful ! Ranking almost last for 4 seasons. How do i fix that ? My players have decent def ratings. And their stats aren't bad i suppose?!?

What am i missing ? Thanks for your time!

Could u screenshot the team home page where it shows team def efficiency

raimel tapia seems to be your worst defender. defense up the middle is the most important so SS 2B CF and C should all be 70 rating or above

Thanks. I'll see what i can do at those position. Tapia's RF rating is at 70 . Out arm 70, error 65, 55 range... He should be decent.

But my CF rating isn't great. Also, Corey Seager is a beast in my game, but his SS rating is only 50 , DP 50 , In arm/error 70 , range 55.... He might also be the reason i struggle.

Btw, how important is Pitchers Def rating ?

Not important at all ive seen any pitcher from a 25 to 80 win the gold glove. They field so few balls that its up to chance. Defense, especially at coors, is more important than offense because basically any half decent hitter will perform well there. But if you have a great defense at coors youll have abov e average offense and pitching which is hard to get in coors unless you have great defense.
