Need help with draft pick compensation
First, I play with pre-2012 CBA rules, so there are type-A and type-B free agents and so on.
Player P leaves Team A at the end of the last season as type-B free agent Team B signs Player P, Team A receives a supplemental round draft pick Team B puts Player P on waivers What happens when Team A claims Player P? ![]() Okay, I'm Team A. Player P would be cheap and I know what to expect from him. He would be good enough to claim and shove somewhere onto the roster. He would not be good enough to do so when we lose our draft pick.

A Sharp-eyed reader might have a good guess who that player is.
