Scouting

I have a few scouting questions
1. What is better to go by, the OSA ratings of the Scouting ratings? Which is usually more accurate?
2. what is the point of requesting scouting reports? what advantage do they give?
3. Is Tai Ban as good of a scout as the game makes him out to be?

Not completely certain - but this is what i've discovered playing the game ...
1. Depending on how good your scouting director is and how much a budget you have, the team scouting is better than OSA. This is because the OSA only scouts once or twice a year and those rating don't seem to change until the new cycle begins. You can set how often your scout reports to you (called player development report), so the ratings are more current, the most often (unless asked) is once a month and only during the season. Seems as if the off season, no team scouting is done, only individual reports as requested.
2. The advantage is you can get a more updated report on a player, rather than a stock response. When asking for a scouting report, it takes a day for it to appear, per player. So if you ask for reports on two players, it'll take an additional day for the second players report to come in.
3. i can't answer that question, as it's not someone i've ever run across, but you should be able to go to his profile and see what sort of rating he has.
hope this helps. Certainly not an expert on these matters, but this is what i've been told and discovered so far.

I would always trust your scout over the OSA. The only time I ever look at OSA is if I want a second opinion on a player or if I'm torn between two. In general though, you scout will typically be more accurate.

I don't think this is a real person, could be a fictional scout generated by the game.

Then again, I just Googled the name and got a bunch of results for cities, vacation spots and Ty Cobb and a list of players banned from baseball.

He may be made up but he is on EVERY run I do on the game
His only area not legendary is minors scouting but that's still at outstanding

I'm going back and forth on this one. Noticing the OSA players advance faster sometimes. And when I've started a new team, and owner throws down an instant top six minor league system, I've gone to OSA to instantly build up the system and meet requirement...

I also check out OSA's ratings when trading with another team. I've had guys in my minors that my scout rated low but OSA rated higher and were able to use them as pieces in trades.

Not an expert but I find it can help sometimes.
