Quick Easy Question on new Historical Minor League Feature
If I select 'historical' with a start year of 2015, will it be the same as OOTP 16's MLB quickstart? (Most specifically asking about minor league players and minor league teams). If not, what are the differences.
Thanks!

No. The OOTP 16 MLB quickstart had players ratings which were based on PECOTA player projections, the one in a historical league are based on calculations which are based on historical stats only. Also, the 16 quickstart has real HS & College players for upcoming drafts.

OOTP 17 has the same of course. And it even has the proper 2016 draft order including comp picks

Also, the potential ratings for all milb and draft players are based on projections from scouting and prospect sources, rather than solely on stats as in the historical game. |

Duh! to me on the ratings part, I get the distinction. So the only noticeable difference will be the real HS and College players in the draft from the 16 QS will be fictional in a 17 historical with a 2015 start date? That is awesome!

So I guess this means that if I want to do historical but still have draft classes with PECOTA projections, I'll still have to create a template from the full QS and import it into the historical game. Is this correct? BTW, has anyone figured out a more easy, more seamless way of doing this? I can do it, but sometimes the results aren't what I had in mind. Sometimes it messes up the following season's draft (if I hold off until Jan 1 to import), while other times it makes the draftees a year older than they should be (if I import on the first day of the offseason).

I save the previous year's Majors quickstart and import it into the new game.
