Is there a way of changing the goals....

set out by the owner? I have Steven Piscotty in RF and see no reason to make a trade unless it moves Holliday to 1b and Piscotty to LF. I think I set it so I can't be fired so it probably doesn't matter to much(?) but I usually work on the goals even if I don't like them. lol.

you can disable owner goals. i find them annoying, so i just dont use them. Others, however find value in them so it's really a personal setting you can use or not.

Boss: Jeff, I want you to increase your sales by 20% this quarter.

Employee: Nah, I don't like that. How about I try to break my record for consecutive hours not at my desk?

Fire your boss.

It's the smartest move you will ever make.

I have an owner who keeps telling me to decrease the payroll or he'll have to get rid of me (even though I can't be fired and am winning a lot), but insists on meddling and resigning overpaid veterans himself. Uhh....boss, if you wouldn't resign these overpriced, over-the-hill relievers to obscene extensions, we wouldn't be over budget.

are those owner goals listed anywhere besides his initial email and reminder emails? I guess if they are not you'd have to write yourself a note

They are available on the team owner page at all times.

Another way of changing the goals is to start another league. I like the randomness of the owner goals and how it often makes things more difficult; I usually prefer to start off with a "make the playoffs" goal rather than just "have a winning record".

You know it's bad when you worry more about your owners goals in this game, then you do in real life.

I think they expect you to disobey the owner on occassion. stick to nothing detrimental to your team and take your lumps.. bend on stuff that's inconsequential to how you want to run things... placate them only when you can or if you are losing a lot and about to lose your job.

like the others above, i just turn this option off. i know better when it comes to running the team than an AI owner, so i really don't want to be hamstrung by such a thing. allowing them to control the budget is an element of realism realtive to the owner and much more easily simulated without unforseen negative repercussions.
